30-Hour Famine - First Report
This year we have close to 30 People participating under the leadership of Youth minister Dave Stecklier, and Joined by chaperones Jeff and Karrisa Wescott. The group got together at 11pm Friday night with our last meal including fruit, Taccos, and everything in between. Truely a feast.

After dinner we cleaned up and put the food away for the next 30 hours. The famine actually began at 1am on Saturday
We all had a little bit of free time to socialize, play games, or catch a cat nap and then Dave gave us our first briefing. Later today promises to be packed with community service, worship and fun. Our schedule includes time for cleaning up trash, free time and group worship.

We even have a Wii that we borrowed from the Langer Children and an XBOX 360 brought in by Frankie
Of course you can't have a sleep over with out a pillow fight! Frankie held his own against 4 challengers!

Some of us learned a very cool way of folding tee shirts. Don't ask me to duplicate it but you can find the instructions on youtube!
Some of us couldn't sleep so we jammed for a bit, talked, ran computer cables, and then talked some more It's late, just about 2am!

Some of us still couldn't sleep! So we decided to watch a movie on the big screen. With the help of the church's assistive listening system we were able to watch the move without disturbing those that were fortunate enough (smart enough?) to be asleep. Thanks to Meghan for loaning us the movie! We love Madagascar 2!

So far everyone is doing fine. Some are hungry but are filling the hole with water and juice.
Well that's it for now. @ 3am this guy is tired! And we have a long day ahead of us!

P.S. I knew the movie wouldn't last, the last hold outs finally went to sleep 1/3 of the way thru.
More to come!
