I've often wondered about the second day; the day between Good Friday and Easter. What must it have been like for those of Jesus' followers? The sorrow and even the shame of those who ran and denied Him must have been overwhelming. To see everything come crashing down, the hopes and dreams that they held would be devastating and yet they endured it. They carried on this day somehow, because life does go on.
I hardly believe that God was inactive during this time. Something incredible, so unbelievable and unexpected was about to take place and only He knew what was going to happen. I imagine Heaven was very active indeed. The tables were about to be turned on sin and Satan. True reconciliation was about to occur; death was about to be abolished.
The disciples didn't know it, but their lives were once again going to change. The call to "Follow me!" was to take on a new dimension.
Praise God!
